Programme information

The DSTG Annual Symposium 2011 entitled "New Prespectives in Teaching Conscious Sedation" which took place at the Maritime Museum in Liverpool was a great success. We had an excellent attendance as well as exciting presentations from our speakers.

Following an opening speech by Professor Callum Youngson, the Symposium began with Dr Paul Averley speaking on NICE guidelines: Sedation in children and young people. For all of us who attended the Annual Symposium 2011 and joined DSTG, you will be able to download the presentations from our member's forum. Liverpool has one of the most impressive collections of museums outside of London, many of which are handily located close to one another in Albert Dock.

The Merseyside Maritime Museum, where you can find out all about the companies, people and ships connected to this great port. The museum includes a poignant gallery about sea tragedies such as the Titanic and the Lusitania, another museum exhibit about the nine million people who emigrated to the New World through the port, and you can also see models of the big ships and read descriptions of what it’s like to spend your life at sea.
